There aren’t any solo battles because EA sucks and they haven’t fixed the issue where people were able to play an unlimited amount of solo battles when the game was released early. I bought the game on a steam sale fairly recently and focused on improving my team through challenges to try to be competitive in Solo Battles and H2H. In the screenshots attached, you can see that I have completed my first four battles, but can't update opponents for another 22 hours. Also attached is a screenshot of the leaderboard so you can see that other people were able to complete a second set of opponents, and so they have 9 games played.
