DS1 is one of my favourite games ever and that's because all of the game's system's tie so well together, combat, Estus, the world, the atmosphere, everything. Sekiro feels like a mish-mash of random things from Soulsborne games, Nioh and other action games which really don't work that well at all. Bloodborne (or any other Souls title) won't prepare you for Sekiro. While the game does follow some typical From Soft design philosophies, the combat is very different from the other games. Tsushima is much more open and definitely a much longer in depth narrative. Combat in Tsushima is absolutely fantastic. Not nearly as hard as Sekiro but I’d argue just as satisfying.
